Getting started
Vocabulary
Runway names every part of the meeting after something aviation. Teams running on EOS® can read the same screens in the words they already use.
Runway names every part of the weekly meeting after something aviation. A team that has been running on EOS® for three years already has its own word for each of those things, learned from an implementer, and having to translate every screen is friction nobody asked for. So the app speaks one of two vocabularies, and your organization picks which.
Switching vocabulary#
Go to Settings → Organization → Configuration and look for Naming. The choice applies to everyone in the organization at once.
It is presentation only. Routes, stored data and every number in the system are identical in both, which is what makes the switch safe to flip at any time, including in the middle of a quarter.

Renaming a single section#
Neither list has to be taken whole. A crew that calls its issues list "the parking lot" can rename that one gate and leave everything else alone, from Settings → Organization → Meeting agenda.
A name you choose wins over both built-in vocabularies, and it survives a vocabulary switch. See The agenda.
A note on EOS® terms#
- The EOS® words in the app are used to describe what the software is compatible with. Runway is not EOS® software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by EOS Worldwide.
- To learn the system itself rather than the software, go to EOS Worldwide or work with a certified EOS Implementer®.
